  1. Summarize your chosen strategy and explain why you picked it or explain your procrastination or multitasking problem and explain why you want to fix it.

Procrastination is a problem that I struggle with everyday. I always think that I have more time to do something then I actually do, and then before I know it its the night before my assignment is do I and need to spend all night working on it when I had a whole week to do it. This system that I have unwillingly fallen into gives me unnecessary anxiety and stress which could easily be avoided if I were to plan my time better.

2. Explain how you will implement the strategy – be as specific as possible

A strategy that I am going to start using for my procrastination is writing in my agenda. I think this will help because constantly being reminded of all the things that I need to get done will help wake up my “Panic monster” which will let me buckle down and get the work done. The reason why I am able to procrastinate is because I let myself forget about everything that I need to do but if I cannot forget that will motivate me to actually get my work done so that the list of things that I need to do gets smaller.

3. What is your end goal? How will you know the strategy works for you?

The end goal is for me to better plan out my time. Using my agenda will be a valuable tool in helping me do that and plan out my time so that everything gets done on time and in the most efficient way possible. I will know that this strategy has worked when I no longer feel the anxiety of it being really close to a due date and not having started my project but instead know that my project is done and that now I can focus on making it better.

4. What are your critical moves?

I am going to set an alarm on my phone so that every night I get an alert to check my agenda which will remind me what I need to do. Also I am going to try and get not the habit of taking out my agenda at the end of every period so that I can right down all the work that I need to do.

5. How will you shrink the change?

I think the best way to shrink the change is to slowly incorporate the change into your everyday life until you do not realize that you changed any more. So starting off with using my agenda just for school projects and assignments is a great place to start then when I am comfortable with that I can add in something knew. For example, I could get a calendar for my room to help me plan out the things that I need to do outside of school like when I am meeting someone or I have a shift at work just so that I can see when I have time to do things. I think when you take things in chunks it makes them a lot less overwhelming which is a great way to shrink the change.

6. How will you tweak the environment?

I think that the best way to tweak my environment is to get rid of outside distractions. For instance if I am working on something I will most likely be playing music in the background and have my phone siting next to me which is constantly tempting me to look at it. If I eliminate these distractions from my surroundings then I will be able to get things done more efficiently and in a shorter period of time.
